counseling & parenting

The Wyatt Group's primary focus is in the area of counseling therapy.  Dr. Wyatt, a Licensed Professional Counselor, has been  in counseling therapy in the private sector, not-for-profit organizations and institutional settings for  approximately 13 of the last 21 years, with professional leave for continuing education and faculty positions at regional and comprehensive universities.  Having recently completed a four-year stint as an assistant research professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Dr. Wyatt has returned to her private therapy practice and consultancy. The Wyatt Group's counseling practice includes:

Counseling is confidential by nature. Clients should feel comfortable that any information disclosed in therapy is limited to only that purpose unless other arrangements are made in advance by the client (for example disclosure to an attorney, court or employer but only at the client's direction).  

"Parenting" or parent education is also one of Dr. Wyatt's passions.  She believes strongly in parent modeling and works with families to educate them on appropriate family systems and development of family relations.

individual & family assessments

Individual and family evaluations are useful in employment, court and other settings. The Wyatt Group is engaged in performing individual and family evaluations for personal or legal purposes.  Services may include psychological testing, interview, home studies, parenting, and other activities for evaluations depending on the needs of the client and the purpose of the evaluation. Psychological testing may or may not be recommended until a client interview is completed.  If necessary, appropriate testing can be accomplished in a reasonable time frame. Home studies are routinely required in legal proceedings involving divorce, domestic abuse, delinquency, neglect, adoption, and other actions. Dr. Wyatt personally conducts the home studies which routinely include meetings with both sets of parents (or appropriate guardians), visits to the home or homes for evaluation of risk factors and observation of parent-child and sibling interaction, preparation of reports for presentation to the court or other requesting party.  Dr. Wyatt has qualified as an expert witness and provides forensic evaluations.  The Wyatt Group also mediates family disputes, either in litigation and other forums.

The Wyatt Group evaluates patients for sexual addictions and treats these addictions through interactive therapy programs -- in both individual and group settings.  Dr. Wyatt routinely sees persons suffering from:

alcohol & drug assessments

Dr. Vicki Harris Wyatt is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor ("LADC").  She is licensed by the State of Oklahoma to assess and treat alcohol and drug issues.  Dr. Wyatt also routinely performs DUI or DWI assessments for court and driver's license issues, as well as other drug or alcohol assessments for employment and other purposes.  See our DUI Assessment page for additional information.

ADD/ADHD evaluations & therapy

The Wyatt Group evaluates children and adults for ADD/ADHD and provides therapy concerning the ability to focus, concentrate, and complete tasks, and how to avoid impulsivity and boredom related to Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  Within the next six months, the Wyatt Group intends to develop this area of therapy with additional services including neurofeedback.

forensic consultation & expert testimony

Forensic consultations are not limited to psychological testing or expert witness testimony, though The Wyatt Group provides those services. Services may also include home visits, parenting skills, anger management, etc. Some lawyers also use forensic experts in preparing cases for trial, selecting juries, preparing juror questionnaires or conducting focus groups, and in criminal cases for trial and sentencing. Our forensic consultations generally involve matters of family law, juvenile law (delinquency or neglect), criminal law (psychological defenses and malingering), employment law and other legal matters that may involve emotional distress or psychological damages to the client or their children or spouses.  Dr. Wyatt has qualified as an expert witness and is available for  evaluations that may lead to giving testimony in open court or depositions when needed.
