This instrument helps the participant reach a state of calm or relaxation and was "designed to prevent, manage and reverse the negative effects of stress, and to enable users to learn how to operate their mind-body-heart as a unified system, achieving new levels of health and well-being." By learning how to reach a state of calm, a person can relax under stress by finding that place of calm "as needed."

Neurofeedback

Effectively, these instruments allow one to train the brain through exercises monitoring of EEG brain waves. Again, the goal is to achieve a state of focus and attention -- mind clearing so that during an act of stress, the brain reacts naturally instead of being thrown into chaos -- ergo, peak performance. The goal of neurofeedback is to achieve an appropriate state at the appropriate time and to recognize that state and know how to get there on demand

Interactive Metronome® 

The IM program provides a structured, goal-oriented training process that challenges the patient to precisely match a computer-generated beat. Participants are instructed to synchronize various hand and foot exercises to a reference tone heard through head-phones. Gains in motor planning, rhythmicity, timing and sequencing lead to improvements in attention and concentration, language processing, behavior, fine/gross motor skills, balance and gait, strength and endurance, coordination and motor skills.
